Schenectady police make arrest in April shooting

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Schenectady Police Department arrested a man in connection to an April shooting.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. on April 19 in front of 1685 VanVranken Ave.

Thomas Burns, 43, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, First Degree Reckless Endangerment and Second Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Burns is being held in the Schenectady Police Pre-Arraignment detention facility pending arraignment before a city court judge.
