Child injured in farm accident

NORTHUMBERLAND, N.Y. – A one-year-old was sent to the hospital after being injured in a farm accident.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a one-year-old male being run over by an ATV around 8 p.m. Sunday at the Peck Farm on West River Road.

An investigation into the incident showed a seven-year-old male, who lives at the farm, had been backing a small Kubota farm vehicle from a garage on the farm and struck his brother who had walked behind the farm vehicle.

Police said the one-year-old suffered an apparent skull and neck injury and a laceration to his face. He was flown to Albany Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
