ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany Convention Center Authority announced the completion of the land closing at the future site of the Albany Capital Center, to be located at Eagle and Howard Streets.
The purchase price is $4,050,000 including all costs for environmental work and those for the demolition of the existing structures.
The Albany Capital Center will provide 84,000 sq. ft. of convention, ballroom, and meeting space with on-site parking and direct connections to the Empire State Plaza, The Egg, and the Times Union Center via a completely renovated, convenient, and enclosed Empire State Plaza walkway with connections to the new hotel at the former Dewitt Clinton site.
With the closing complete, Columbia Development will move forward with demolition of the buildings that are currently on the site, and construction on The Albany Capital Center can begin in the early fall.
