Man arrested on aggravated assault charge

POWNAL, Vt. – Vermont State Police arrested a man for alleged aggravated assault.

Police responded to the Burdick Mobile Home Park around 4:15 a.m. Monday. It was reported that Burdick MHP resident Ryan Cote had been knocking on his neighbors’ windows in the early morning hours.

A resident who was woken by the knocking confronted Cote and an altercation ensued, according to police. During the altercation, Cote allegedly pointed a muzzle loader in the direction of 51-year-old Deborah Catellucia and 30-year-old Amber Chapman.

Police were initially unable to locate Cote, but after several hours, Cote voluntarily came out of his residence to talk to police.

The 29-year-old was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. The muzzle loader involved in the incident was surrendered to police.

Cote is being held at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility without bail.
