ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – New York residents are urged to avoid mosquito bites this summer.
Health officials found the season’s first trace of West Nile Virus in a mosquito sample in Rockland County last week. The Department of Health said residents should cover up when outdoors, use insect repellent and eliminate sources of standing water where mosquitoes breed.
