LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. - A Vermont man has been arrested for being a fugitive from justice after a motor vehicle accident on Route 9.

According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Shaun Kennedy, 28, was arrested early Monday morning following an investigation into a motor vehicle accident in Lake George.

Authorities say Kennedy had struck a guide rail while traveling north on State Route 9 in Lake George.

During an investigating into the accident, authorities say they found Kennedy had a Bench Warrant out of Bucks County Sheriff’s Office in Pennsylvania. Upon further investigation, it was found that the man was in possession of a handgun and did not have a pistol permit in the State of New York.

Kennedy was charged with the Felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree.

He will be arraigned on the weapons charges in Warren County and await extradition from Bucks County in Pennsylvania.
