Man accused of shoving, injuring uniformed officer

 SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -  A Ballston Spa man was arrested on several charged after a fight on Saturday morning.

According to Saratoga Springs Police, officers responded to the area of Caroline Street around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say James Avery, 34, was with a group of individuals who attempted to fight with another group. Officer intervened during the situation.

However, police say that while officers were attempting to stop the incident, Avery violently shoved a uniformed officer. 

According to authorities, police told Avery he was under arrest but the man physically resisted the arrest and injured an officer during the incident.

Avery has been charged with felony assault in the second, harassment in the second and resisting arrest.
