State Police investigating animal cruelty case


TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. – New York State Police are investigating an animal cruelty case out of Franklin County.

Police said an individual reported finding a deceased German Shepherd in the water in Tupper Lake on June 20. The dog had a cinder block tied to its neck and appeared to have been intentionally drowned, according to police.

Police estimate the incident occurred around the beginning of June.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 518-897-2000.

State Police are being assisted by the NYS Depart of Environmental Conservation and the Tupper Lake Police Department on the case.
