MILTON, N.Y. – Two Saratoga County residents were arrested Tuesday for welfare fraud.
The New York State Police assisted the Saratoga County Department of Social Services and arrested Lisa Schimpf, 34, of Galway, and Christopher DiComillo, 34, or Ballston Spa for Welfare Fraud.
Police said the former couple fraudulently received $15,567 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits by falsifying documents to receive them. Both Schimpf and DiComillo were charged with Welfare Fraud in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree.
Schimpf and DiComillo were arraigned in the Town of Milton Court and released to Saratoga County Probation Pre-Trial Services. Both are to reappear in court July 1.
