Police: Sharon Springs man nearly four times the legal limit while driving
SHARON, N.Y. – A Sharon Springs man was arrested after he was caught driving while nearly four times the legal limit for alcohol.
Michael Mackey, 36, was stopped on State Route 10 in the town of Sharon for failing to signal for a turn onto Green Road. Following his arrest for driving while intoxicated, it was determined that Mackey’s blood alcohol concentration was .30 percent, nearly four times the legal limit.
The charge became a felony when it was discovered that Mackey had a conviction for DWI within the previous ten years.
Mackey was arraigned and sent to the Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He will return to the Sharon Town Justice Court at a later date.
