CANAJOHAIRE, N.Y. – A man faces several charges after he struck a dump truck.
On June 25, shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon, Troopers from the Fonda station investigated a car, dump truck accident on Carlisle Road in the Town of Canajohaire.
Officers say a car operated by Jamey Lewis crossed into the opposite lane of traffic. The dump truck driver, who saw the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in his lane, was able to stop the dump truck on the shoulder of the road.
Lewis lost control of the car, striking the dump truck. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The dump truck driver was not injured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Lewis was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Unsafe Speed, and Failure to Keep Right
