Troy man pleads guilty to selling heroin


ALBANY, N.Y.—A Troy man pleaded guilty to selling heroin in Albany County Court Thursday.

Leonardo Velez, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree.

Velez was observed by members of the Albany Police Department selling 100 glassine envelopes of heroin in exchange for $300 on March 17, 2014 in front of a residence on Myrtle Avenue.

When sentenced on July 24, 2014, Velez faces five years in State Prison followed by two years of Post Release Supervision.
