TROY, N.Y.—The opening of Troy public pools was announced by Mayor Lou Rosamilia Thursday.
The City of Troy’s public swimming pools are set to open for the summer on Friday, June 27, at 1 p.m.
“We are excited to open the pools for the summer season,” said Mayor Rosamilia.
Both the South Troy and Kickerbacker Pools will be open seven days a week from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m to city residents.
Beginning on July 7, the South Troy Pool will have evening swimming hours from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be reserved for adults, Tuesdays for infants and toddlers (under 4) and Thursdays for families.
Starting July 14, free swimming lessons for children will be held at the South Troy Pool from 10 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday.
There is no cost for swimmers under the age of 16. Individuals over the age of 16 will be charged $1.
