Crews conduct water rescue in Gilboa

GILBOA, N.Y. – Crews in Schoharie County conducted a water rescue Wednesday night.

Crews responded to South Gilboa Road to a report of two people and two pets trapped inside a home. Sheriff Tony Desmond said everyone in the house was accounted for, but they were cut off due to the roads being washed out.

Desmond said crews had a hard time reaching the scene because of the road and bridge being washed out. The sheriff said water had reached the bottom of the trailer and was approaching the living quarters.

Desmond said both people and the two pets were rescued and were being checked out by medical personnel.
