MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. – A State of Emergency was declared in Mechanicville due to flooding caused by heavy rain and a water main break.

The Mechanicville Police Department issued the state of emergency due to extensive flooding in the city and a water main break on North Main Street.

Police said all traffic has been restricted from entering city limits. Residents are instructed to not travel on city streets until 10 a.m. Thursday.

A boil water order was issued for 24 hours for the city due to the North Main Street water main break. Water was shut down on Wednesday, but service was turned back on Thursday.
