ALBANY, N.Y. - A man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a burglary charge.
James Hakkenberg, 47, has been sentenced to 12 years in State Prison, followed by five years of post release supervision.
On June 19, 2013, Hakkenberg entered a home in the town of Bethlehem and stole several items including a laptop and digital camera.
On the afternoon of June 21, 2013, Hakkenberg entered a separate residence in Bethlehem and stole electronics, a television, collectible cards, and a 2009 Honda CRV. He broke a window to enter the home, cutting himself in the process.
Additionally, on June 24, 2013, Hakkenberg attempted to break into a residence in Colonie when a neighbor called the police. Police determined that he had driven the previously stolen Honda CRV to the Colonie house.
