Police: Ex-girlfriend charged with stabbing man in his face

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Schenectady Police say they arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing a man in his face.

According to authorities, Alishama Johnson, 32, was arrested only a few hours after the stabbing on Monday.

Police say Johnson, the victim's ex-girlfriend, allegedly forced her way into the 1018 Stanley Street apartment and stabbed the man in the face on Monday morning. Children were present at the time of the stabbing, say police. 

Johnson has been charged with one count of burglary in the first, a felony, one count of assault in the second, a felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. 

She was held overnight in the city lockup and will be arraigned Tuesday morning in city court.  

There is no update available on the victim’s medical condition.  

Schenectady Police say they also arrested another woman who is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend. However, the incidents are unrelated.
