NORTH WARREN, N.Y. – Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on I-87.

Leonid Gorodetsky of State Island was traveling southbound around 11:50 a.m. Monday on I-87. The 46-year-old had made plans with family members who were following behind him on the roadway.

The family was intended to get off the interstate at Exit 22. Gorodetsky was in the left lane approaching the exit when he passed a tractor trailer traveling in the right lane. Gorodetsky was sent out of control off the right should where he was ejected. He was transported by ambulance to Glens Falls Hospital, but he died en route, according to police.

Gorodetsky was pronounced dead at 12:44 p.m. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
