Man accused of driving drunk, speeding in 30 MPH zone

WATERFORD, N.Y. - Police say they arrested a man for DWI after he was allegedly driving at twice the speed limit.

According to the Town of Waterford Police Department, on Sunday around 4 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle on Saratoga Avenue traveling at a high rate of speed. 

Police say radar indicted the speed to be traveling at 64 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. 

A traffic stop was initiated. Upon questioned, the officer determined that the driver, Jeremy Urquhart, 23, was driving while intoxicated.

Urquhart was arrested for felony DWI, due to a previous DWI conviction in 2011, felony aggravated  DWI, reckless driving and speed in zone.
