73-year-old accused of DWI, resisting arrest, after accident
SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. - Authorities say they arrested a 73-year-old man for DWI and resisting arrest following a car crash.
According to State Police, William Morgan was driving his vehicle when he went off State Route 40 and struck a utility police. Troopers say they found Morgan still in the driver's seat of the vehicle at the scene of the accident.
Police say Morgan was uncooperative and Troopers detected signs that the man was intoxicated.
While attempting to place Morgan in custody, the man allegedly resisted arrest and tried to leave the scene.
Morgan was arrested and taken to the Brunswick barracks where he was processed. His blood alcohol content was found to be .20-percent. He was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket for the Town of Schaghticoke Court. He was released to a relative.
