State Police: Woman drove into ditch, tried driving with two flat tires

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a woman for DWI after she was allegedly trying to drive with two flat tires.

According to police, a Trooper saw a vehicle travelling on State Route 67 leave the road and enter a ditch. The Trooper then observed the driver, Lacey Burleson, 31, try to get back on the roadway with two flat tires.

The State Trooper attempted to pull the Vermont woman over, but Burleson allegedly continue to drive for several hundred feet before pulling into a parking lot.

While interviewing the woman, she allegedly told the Trooper she drove into the ditch because she was texting. 

Burleson is accused of failing field sobriety tests. She was taken to the Brunswick barracks for processing, where her blood alcohol content was found to be .16-percent. 

She was issued tickets and is to appear in court at a later date.
