ALBANY, N.Y.—A Lake Luzerne woman was sentenced to one to three years in State Prison after pleading guilty to violating the terms of her felony probation.
On February 9, 2013, Rebecca Reed drove through a stop sign and into a snow bank, striking a utility pole. When emergency personnel arrived, she became belligerent and punched one of the first responders.
Reed refused to give her name when asked and exhibited signs of intoxication. She was then taken into custody where she refused to submit a test to determine her BAC.
Reed pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and one count of Driving While Intoxicated. She was also sentenced to six months of weekends at the Albany County Correctional Facility and three years’ probation on the DWI.
At the time of her guilty plea, the court informed her that she must agree to follow the conditions of her Felony Probation, and if not the court could sentence her to period of incarceration in State Prison, which Reed agreed to.
After Reed was sentenced, she admitted to taking heroin and failing to report to the Albany County Correctional Facility as directed.
As a result, Reed was sentenced to one to three years in State Prison followed by three years of probation.
