Niskayuna Police Department turn over dispatching operations to Schenectady UCC

NISKAYUNA, N.Y.—The dispatch center at the Niskayuna Police Department turned public safety dispatching operations over to the authority of the Schenectady County Unified Communications Center on Tuesday.

The town’s dispatchers will join Glenville and Schenectady dispatchers who are already dispatching for police and fire at the UCC.

The UCC will now dispatch 911 Emergencies and non-emergency requests for service in Niskayuna.

Due to this move, there will be no dispatcher at the police department entrance to greet walk-in complaints. Two phones have been installed in the entrance for the public’s calls for service.

The non-emergency number for the Niskayuna Police Department has not changed. 518-374-3159 will still be utilized.
