Woman arrested for felony DWI after alleged hit and run
TROY, N.Y. - State Police say they have arrested a woman for felony DWI after a hit and run accident.
According to State Police in Brunswick, Troopers were on the look out for a vehicle that struck two cars on Pawling Avenue and left the scene. A Trooper spotted 50-year-old Corrina Slocum's car, which had damage to it, traveling on Route 2 in Brunswick shortly after the accident.
Police initiated a traffic stop. Upon questions Slocum, she allegedly told police that she had hit a deer.
A responding Troy Police Officer, however, confirmed Slocum's car was involved in the Pawling Avenue accident.
Police say she failed field sobriety testing and was taken to the Brunswick barracks for processing. Her BAC was found to be .13-percent.
According to authorities, Slocum had a previous conviction for DWI in the past 10 years the new charge was upgraded to a Felony. Slocum was also issued traffic tickets by Troy Police. She was arraigned in Brunswick Court and released to return at a later date.
