GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – A Greenfield Center man faces a slew of charges after he allegedly rammed a truck while an officer was conducting interviews for a domestic dispute involving him.
On Sunday, State Police in Wilton responded to a domestic incident on Northern Pines Road in the Town of Gansevoort.
Joseph Golden, 43, of Greenfield Center, being charged with Menacing in the second degree, Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, 5 counts of Reckless endangerment in the first degree, Endangering the welfare of a child, Felony DWI, and several Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
Prior to troopers arriving to the initial reported incident, Golden had left the scene in his pickup truck. Once troopers arrived at the scene, they began to conduct interviews and speak to witnesses of the incident as part of the investigation.
Golden then returned to the Northern Pines Road location and intentionally rammed his truck into the back of another truck that a trooper with witnesses was standing in front of while conducting interviews. The trooper and four other individuals, including a 13-year-old child, had to take evasive action in order to avoid being struck by the truck that was pushed forward.
Golden then fled the scene once again and while on Ballard Road in Gansevoort, struck another vehicle that was travelling east on that road, causing an accident, where troopers then caught up to him and placed him into custody.
He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court on the charges and is scheduled to reappear on June 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
