Teen accused of stabbing, seriously injuring mother
THURMAN, N.Y. - A juvenile is accused of assault in the first degree, a felony charges.
According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the teenager was arrested on Friday after she and her mother were engaged in a domestic dispute. During the incident, the juvenile allegedly pulled a pocket knife from her pants and stabbed her mother.
The victim sustained a serious injury and was taken to the Glens Falls Hospital where she was later admitted. She was listed as being in serious condition, however her injuries were not considered to be life threatening according to the Sheriff's Office.
The teenager was taken into custody at the scene and the weapon was recovered without incident. She was charged with assault in the first degree, a felony. The Sheriff's Office said she was then placed in a secured detention facility in the Albany area.
Due to the suspect’s age, she will be petitioned to Warren County Family Court at a later date.
