ALBANY, N.Y. -- Assemblyman Micah Kellner is facing sanctions after he allegedly defied previous orders.
Sanctions, which include reducing his staff allotment to zero, were ordered by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver following an ethics report saying Kellner violated a previous order.
Back in December Kellner was ordered not to have any interns in his office due to sexual harassment accusations, but the report states he continued to staff them.
NEWS10 ABC spoke to fellow Assemblyman John Mcdonald who agrees with the speaker’s actions and then some.
"Let’s put things in priority, disrespect for a person’s rights is first and foremost, but secondary or tertiary, it is a waste of taxpayer dollars and the arrogance does not befit a member of the NYS assembly,” he said.
Assemblyman Kellner sent a statement to NEWS10 ABC saying he will not only appeal the decision immediately, but that his constituents become the victims "by withholding community grants for legitimate vetted organizations, and now by denying them the resources of my office, which assists New Yorkers from all walks of life every day."
