Police: Man seriously injured in accident could face charges

WHITE CREEK, N.Y. – State Police say a Vermont man has been seriously injured and charges are pending after a car accident in White Creek.

According to authorities, State Police are investigating a seriously personal injury accident involving alcohol. The accident happened on Tuesday, shortly before 8 p.m. on State Route 22.

The driver of the car has been identified as David Emaish, 41, of Bennington, Vermont.

Emaish was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center by helicopter. He is listed in stable, but critical condition.

An investigation revealed that Emaish was traveling southbound on State Route 22. Police say he lost control of his car as it rolled several times, before finally coming to a rest in a wooded around about 338 feet from the main road.

Evidence led a responding State Trooper to believe that alcohol was involved in the accident.

Upon further investigation, it was determined Emaish was involved in a separate accident on Brownell Hollow Road, where he was observed driving across the yard of a local homeowner before continuing on his way.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say numerous charges are pending.
