Amsterdam woman arrested for armed robbery


AMSTERDAM, N.Y.-- An Amsterdam woman was arrested on Monday for strong arm robbery that occurred at a Price Chopper parking lot.

Cara Dearaujo, 30, was allegedly hiding between two parked cards when she knocked a woman down to the ground and stole her pocket book. Dearaujo then fled the scene in her vehicle.

Dearaujo was later observed driving on route 5 by the state police when she was pulled over and transported back to Johnstown Police Department.

The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and was treated and released on the scene.

Dearaujo was charged with Robbery, Assault, Grand Larceny, and Petit Larceny.
