GUILDERLAND, N.Y.—After being damaged this past spring, the athletic fields at Farnsworth Middle School are back to being green.
A Latham-based company, Grassland Equipment and Irrigation Corp, made a generous donation to the school to help restore the fields back to the right condition.
Grassland salesman John Halloran called the district offering to help after hearing about the athletic field. The company donated the use of an aerovator and tractor, which helped the maintenance crew with planting and growing new seed.
The fields will remain closed to activity throughout the summer to allow the turf to be fully grown and established.
The athletic fields will be open at the start of the new school year.
