ALBANY, N.Y. – A Latham man pleaded guilty to one count of burglary in the second degree in Albany County Court.
Bryan Callaghan, 41, pleaded guilty on Monday morning.
On July 1, 2013, Callaghan unlawfully entered a residence on Sherwood Avenue in Colonie. While inside with another party, over $1,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.
The guilty plea fully satisfies charges that on Callaghan did attempt to unlawfully enter a residence where a 12 year old girl was home alone on Watervliet Shaker Road. He also stole a purse from a car on Washington Avenue Extension and used a credit card from the purse to purchase gas on May 23, 2013.
This is Callaghan’s third conviction for felony burglary. He faces 10 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision when sentenced on July 8.
The alleged co-defendant from these charges has since passed away.
