FORT EDWARD, N.Y. – A 16-year old faces several charges after police say he threatened to drown a 6-year old.
On Sunday June 8, 2014 the Fort Edward Police Department arrested the Hudson Falls teen and charged him with a felony reckless endangerment in the first-degree, and misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and menacing in the third-degree.
The charges stemmed from an incident in which the teen allegedly threatened to drown a 6-year old child before throwing the child into the Hudson River. There were adults in the area at the time, and the child was able to get out water without incident.
The group had been swimming in the Bradley Beach area when the teen reportedly became upset with the child. He was arraigned in Fort Edward Village Court and remanded to the Washington County Jail for lack of bail with an Order of Protection being issued to keep him away from the child.?
