Police: Man with .18% BAC crashed into DOT equipment
WATERFORD, N.Y. – Police say they have arrested a man for driving with a BAC that was more than twice the legal limit.
According to Waterford Town Police, on Sunday evening, authorities received a report for a motor vehicle accident at First and Broad Streets. Upon arrival to the scene, police discovered the vehicle had crashed into DOT equipment parked on Broad Street at the entrance to the Waterford Troy Bridge.
Police say after interviewing the driver, 38-year-old Michael Baranowski, it was determined he was intoxicated. A test revealed he had a BAC of .18-percent.
Baranowski has been charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, reckless driving, driving in shoulder.
He has been released pending his appearance in town court.
