WOODFORD, Vt., - Two local people were involved in a motorcycle accident in Vermont over the weekend.

On Sunday evening, Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Vermont Route 9.

Upon arrival to the scene, police discovered that a single motorcycle was involved in the accident.

The operator of the motorcycle, John Schiavo, 43, was taken to the hospital to be treated for a collapsed lung, multiple rib fractures, and a possible head injury.

Schiavo’s passenger, Julie Peterson, 41, of Schenectady, suffered minor scrapes and bruises. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
