Arrest made in 2012 Schenectady homicide


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Schenectady Police Department has made an arrest in a 2012 homicide.

Police were called to The Mason’s Club in the early morning of October 27, 2012 for multiple reports of shots fired. George Lloyd arrived at Ellis Hospital shortly after the shooting.

Lloyd was later pronounced dead as a result of gunshot wounds.

Jamel Johnson, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree Wednesday. The 26-year-old is being held in the Schenectady Police pre-arraignment detention facility pending arraignment in city court Thursday.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
