Another Union hockey player goes pro

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior forward Matt Hatch has signed an NHL contract.

Hatch will follow his Union teammate Shayne Gostisbehere to the Flyers after signing a free agent contract.

The deal comes after Hatch put up his best numbers this season with 13 goals and 21 points as a senior.

Hatch said Gostisbehere was the first guy he spoke with besides his parents after he signed his contract Monday. Hatch said he will likely start the season in Allentown, Pa. with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, formerly the Adriondack Phantoms before they moved.
