Albany man sentenced to prison after possession and sale of illegal firearms
ALBANY, N.Y.-- An Albany man was sentenced to 12 years in State Prison on Tuesday.
Thomas Pope, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree on February 5, 2014.
On June 19, 2013, Pope possesses a FB Radom 9mm Pistol Model X915 and then sold the illegal weapon along with ammunition. The transaction was captured on video with portions showing Pope wiping his fingerprints off of the weapon before the sale.
Additionally, Pope possessed an UZI 9mm loaded with two magazines and two boxes of ammunition on July 8, 2013.
Pope was sentenced to two concurrent sentences of 12 years in State Prison, followed by five years of Post Release Supervision.
