NEW YORK, N.Y. - All eyes are on California Chrome as preparations are underway for the Belmont Stakes Race in New York City.
California Chrome is going for horse racing's Triple Crown after winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness.
While the horse is being watched by security around the clock, fans will also be under close observation on Saturday. There will be such an overwhelming need for parking that already "tailgating" has been canceled at Belmont for Saturday's big race.
Security will also be ramped-up with federal, state, and local law enforcement in place as ecstatic fans and media inquiries pour in day and night from all over the globe.
California Chrome is the 12th horse to try for the Triple Crown since Affirmed won all three races in 1978.
