Bicyclist fatally injured in collision, driver not expected to face charges

TROY, N.Y. – A bicyclist has died after he was struck by a car in Troy.

According to Troy Police, on Monday around 9:25 p.m., a bicyclist collided with a vehicle. 

The vehicle was driven by an Albany man who was traveling northbound on King Street near Federal Street. 

The bicyclist , who has been identified as Stephen Nolan, 53, was allegedly attempting to cross King Street when the collision occurred.

Nolan was in grave condition at the scene, according to Troy Police. He later succumbed to his injured after he was taken to Samaritan Hospital and later Albany Medical Center.

King Street was closed for several hours while an accident reconstruction team conducted an investigation into the incident. 

At this time there are no charges expected to be filed against the driver.
