SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Schenectady residents will learn more about plans for a casino in the Electric City.
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday night on casino gaming.
Schenectady County legislator's say a casino could be extremely beneficial to all county residents. Currently, plans call for a casino at the old Alco headquarters along the river.
The Galesi Group joined with Rush Street to propose the plan for the Rivers Casino at Mohawk Harbor. As outlined by New York State’s regulations, the casino will provide millions of dollars to the city and county of Schenectady, as well as surrounding Capital Region counties.
Monday's meeting is a chance for Schenectady County residents to have their voices heard on the proposal.
