Colonie High School unveils 'Don't Text and Drive' billboard
COLONIE, N.Y. - Colonie High School has unveiled its PSA billboard.
The billboard was unveiled on Wednesday. This year's theme is "Don't Text and Drive."
The school says 45 students from graphic design and digital photography classes submitted ideas to Lamar Advertising. This year's winning design features a picture of the roadway saying "No Text Zone."
The billboard is located near the Walgreens at the intersection of Central Avenue and Route 155 in Colonie.
Sophomore Haylie Szemplinski designed the billboard and she says the message is simply.
"I hope they understand it's not safe to text and drive on the road because it can happen to anybody," said Szemplinski.
This billboard was unveiled a couple weeks after Shen High School students unveiled their "Intoxicated Billboard" on Route 9.
