State Police: Shen high school senior died in car crash

SHENENDEHOWA, N.Y. – State Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old Shenendehowa student was killed in a car accident Thursday morning.
According to State Police, the student was killed in the accident while driving around 7:45 a.m. on Wood Road in Clifton Park.
The high school senior was taken to Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Shenendehowa High School website, the high school senior, Hunter Cronin, was on his way to school Thursday morning.
Authorities say that the student’s car was traveling southbound when he failed to negotiate a turn due to speed. He went off the road and flipped over.
In a statement, Shenendehowa officials said:
"We are deeply saddened to announce that a car accident tragically took the life of Shenendehowa High School senior Hunter Cronin while on his way to school this morning.
When we learned of the news, our Crisis Team, which is made up of administrators, psychologists, counselors and teachers, met to discuss plans to help students deal with the loss of their classmate. The senior class was gathered in the auditorium and told about the incident with crisis team members on hand to help those in need. For those who attend occupational education with Hunter, the crisis team at that school met with them to provide support."
