ALBANY, N.Y. – The New York State Public Service Commission will hold a symposium to discuss the future of the energy grid in New York.
The daylong event will feature a wide range of energy experts brought to advance the Commission’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) initiative announced in April to restructure New York’s energy industry.
The symposium is co-sponsored by the Albany Law School Government Law Center and will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 22 at the Albany Law School.
Speakers at the symposium include Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Chairman for Energy and Finance for the State Richard Kauffman, Assistant Secretary of the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability Patricia Hoffman, U.S. Department of Energy.
Energy representatives from across the country will discuss the change in the electric system as it relates to customers and technology and the changing trends on the electric grid.
The information shared at the symposium will provide the Commission’s staff with a broader context for analysis of the issues that will be before the Commission.
The symposium can be viewed as a webcast. The video will also be posted on the Commission’s website following the event.
