ALBANY, N.Y. - A new bill in the state senate could ban the sale of powdered alcohol in New York.
Senator Joseph Griffo announced the new bill, saying powdered alcohol has great potential for abuse, could be easily taken into places where alcohol is not allowed, and could be dangerous.
The FDA approved powdered alcohol in April, but quickly took that approval away, calling it an error.
If this bill passes, powdered alcohol will be banned, even if the FDA changes its mind again.
Currently, powdered alcohol is not allowed in Alaska with a ban is also being considered in Minnesota and Vermont.
