Schenectady man pleads guilty after stealing two cars

ALBANY, N.Y.—A Schenectady man pleaded guilty Wednesday after stealing two cars.

Michael Carter, 20, pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Grand Larceny.

On February 19, Carter stole a 2012 Jeep Liberty outside a residence in Rensselaer. The owner of the vehicle saw Carter, followed him in a separate vehicle, and Carter eventually struck two security gates at Siena College and drove across the front lawn.

Carter collided with a vehicle driven by another motorist before striking a tree and fleeing on foot.

As he fled, Carter stole a parked Chevy Cobalt.

Carter faces one to three years in State Prison when sentenced on July 16.
