Body found in Mohawk River identified


WATERFORD, N.Y. -- Officials confirm the body of a male was recovered from the Mohawk River just above the hydro dam that separates Waterford and Cohoes.

The man was identified as James Arthur Nebraska, 64, of Troy.

Public Safety Commissioner John Tanchak says a man walking along the river spotted the body and called police at around 8:30 a.m.

An autopsy was completed at Albany Medical Center with a cause of death determined to be drowning.
