AMSTERDAM, N.Y. –PETA says they are offering an award to find the person who abused a 6-month-old dog that had to be euthanized.
The group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, says they are offering $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.
Earlier this month, a dog named Trooper, was found by an Amsterdam couple in a ditch. The Amsterdam Dog Control Office said the six-month-old pitbull had multiple fractures to its back, legs and jaw. Trooper also suffered from malnutrition and was found in an emaciated condition.
Police have yet to make an arrest in the case.
