Menands man pleads guilty to selling heroin

ALBANY, N.Y. – A Menands man has pleaded guilty to selling heroin in the Village of Menands.

According to Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares, Virgilio Hernandez, 46, pleaded guilty to one Count of Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a felony.

On March 17, Hernandez was observed by members of the New York State Police selling heroin at a home on Clifford Road. A search warrant was executed at the residence and police uncovered 500 bags of heroin, digital scales and plastic baggies used to package narcotics.

This guilty plea is in full satisfaction of multiple uncharged narcotic sales attributed to this defendant.

Hernandez faces four years in State Prison, to be followed by two years of Post Release Supervision when sentenced on June 9.
