Albany man sentenced for shooting at Albany Police Officers

ALBANY, N.Y.—An Albany man was sentenced to seven years in State Prison for weapons possession charges on Thursday.

Malik Moore, 34, was sentenced to seven years, as well as sentenced to a concurrent State Prison for one to three years on the charge of Reckless Endangerment in the first degree.

On March 13, Moore pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon and one count of Reckless Endangerment.

The Albany Police Department responded to a fight on South Pearl Street on June 29, 2013. Once the fight was broken up, Moore went back to his house and retrieved a handgun and two dogs.

According to police, when Moore exited his house he fired three rounds towards the officers and fled with the two dogs.

Officers executed a search warrant and recovered a loaded .357 revolver and a .380 semi-automatic handgun.
