Siena, UAlbany vie for lacrosse titles

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – It has been a banner year for local collegiate sports as two local colleges will compete for lacrosse titles.

Siena’s men’s team left for Rhode Island for a "Play-In" game against Bryant. The team boarded buses to Smithfield to take on The Bulldogs at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Siena earned the trip by winning the MAAC Championship over the weekend against Marist.

UAlbany’s men’s lacrosse team is also in the tournament.

The Great Danes beat UMBC over the weekend to win the America East Championship and the automatic bid into the NCAA's.

UAlbany travels to Maryland to take on Loyola Maryland for its first round game on Saturday at noon.

This year, Union College took home a national hockey championship and Siena College had a basketball invitational title. The UAlbany men’s and women’s basketball teams also took trips to the NCAA.
